4A District 6 Championship Preview: Rockledge vs. New Smyrna Beach

This Friday, all eyes will be on the 4A District 6 Championship showdown between the 5-2 Rockledge Raiders and the 6-1 New Smyrna Beach Barracudas. Both teams have had impressive seasons, but the spotlight is squarely on New Smyrna Beach’s standout quarterback, Alex Johnson.

Johnson is having a phenomenal year, showcasing his dual-threat abilities. Through seven games, he has passed for 1,283 yards, throwing 17 touchdowns while only committing three interceptions—a testament to his precision and decision-making. Not only does he shine through the air, but he’s also a weapon on the ground, racking up 272 rushing yards on 51 carries with three touchdowns.

Committed to Division I Navy, where he will play slot receiver, Johnson’s athleticism and leadership have propelled New Smyrna Beach to the top of the district standings. His versatility will be a critical factor in this pivotal game against Rockledge.
