GAME OF THE WEEK: #1 Eau Gallie(3-2) vs #5 Titusville(2-3)

District 8 Showdown: Eau Gallie vs. Titusville

This Friday night brings a key Class 3A District 8 matchup as the Eau Gallie Commodores (3-2) prepare to host the Titusville Terriers (2-3). Both teams enter with plenty on the line — Eau Gallie riding momentum after a statement win over powerhouse Cocoa High, and Titusville looking to establish its identity under new leadership.

Eau Gallie (3-2) — Riding High

The Commodores are coming off one of the biggest wins in program history, knocking off Cocoa in a thriller last week. That victory gave Eau Gallie not only confidence but also a clear reminder that they can compete with anyone in the state. At 3-2, the Commodores have battled through a tough schedule, leaning on their physicality and running attack. With playoff positioning looming, this district game is an important chance to stay in control of their postseason path.

Titusville (2-3) — A New Era

The Terriers are 2-3 on the season but have shown flashes of potential under their new coaching staff. The fresh leadership has brought a renewed energy to the program, and despite the growing pains, Titusville has the athletes to make this a dangerous matchup. For the Terriers, pulling off a road win against a confident Eau Gallie team would be a signature moment in the new regime’s first year.

Keys to the Game

  • Momentum vs. Resilience: Eau Gallie wants to carry over the fire from their win against Cocoa, while Titusville will try to respond with toughness and discipline.
  • Line Play: Expect the trenches to be critical — if Titusville can slow down Eau Gallie’s physical front, they’ll give themselves a chance late.
  • Turnovers & Special Teams: In a district battle where every possession matters, mistakes could be the difference.

Outlook

Eau Gallie enters as the favorite, but district rivalries are rarely predictable. Titusville’s new leadership and hunger to prove themselves could make this a tougher test than records suggest. Expect a physical, emotional game with playoff implications on the line.
